Newbury and West Berkshire offer some of the most flexible wedding venues in the county. Newbury Racecourse hosts weddings for 40-550 guests across suites from the light Owners Club to the heritage Royal Box, with grounds for teepees and marquees and an on-site lodge hotel. Donnington Valley Hotel is a four-star country hotel with spa, golf course, and elegant event space. Beyond these, converted barns and private estates across the Lambourn and Kennet valleys host blank-canvas marquee weddings. Newbury falls under West Berkshire Council. Licensed venues like the Racecourse and Donnington Valley hold their own premises licence, so an external bar team needs no extra paperwork. For marquees on private estates or unlicensed barns - common across the rural West Berkshire countryside - a Temporary Events Notice must be filed with West Berkshire Council at least 10 working days ahead. We submit the TEN as part of the booking.

Barns & Marquees
West Berkshire is a rural county of converted barns, farm venues, and private estates, and marquee receptions are the primary format for larger celebrations outside the licensed venues. Our bar units are designed for exactly this: stable on uneven ground, weather-sealed for the outdoors, and compact enough to fit inside standard 6m marquee bays or a barn corner. Power comes from a single 16-amp socket or a small generator, which is often the right call for an off-grid estate.
Garden parties and village hall events around Newbury, Thatcham, Hungerford, and Kintbury follow a simple format: a freestanding bar, a TEN where the property is unlicensed, and a two-person bartender team for groups up to 80. The Lambourn Valley's racing-yard estates and the Kennet Valley villages are regular booking areas for us.
