Birthday party bar hire in London starts from £850 all-inclusive for up to 35 guests. The Sesh Bars turn any venue into a proper cocktail bar for your birthday — bespoke menus, a named signature cocktail for the guest of honour, licensed bartenders, and a bar that looks as good as it pours. We've covered 30ths in Hackney lofts, 40ths in Richmond gardens, 50ths in Mayfair townhouses, and 21sts in Clapham house shares. Indoor and outdoor setups across all London boroughs.
Every birthday bar hire booking includes a mobile bar hire unit, a licensed bartender, a bespoke cocktail menu, quality glassware, ice, garnishes, and full setup and strike. We arrive 60 minutes before your first guest so the bar is ready when the party starts. All waste and equipment leaves with us.
All-inclusive packages cover spirits, mixers, beer, wine, soft drinks, and a non-alcoholic cocktail option as standard. Champagne and prosecco toasts are available as add-ons for milestone moments. Dry hire is available from £350 if you're supplying the drinks yourself. Public liability insurance and personal alcohol licences are included on every booking at no extra cost.
Birthday parties consistently call for big, crowd-pleasing cocktails. Our most-requested birthday menu runs the Espresso Martini, Pornstar Martini, Aperol Spritz, Velvet Bramble, and a house G&T. We batch the most popular serves so the queue never backs up — a birthday bar should feel effortless, not like a slow pub.
For milestone birthdays — 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th — we design a named signature cocktail for the guest of honour. Named after them, built around their favourite flavours, printed on the menu card. Non-alcoholic cocktails are included as standard so every guest has something worth celebrating with. See our full cocktail menu for drinks, prices, and seasonal options.

Milestone birthdays justify a proper upgrade. For 30ths and 40ths in hired London venues — Shoreditch warehouses, Brixton arches, private dining rooms in the City — we size the bar setup to the space and match the drink selection to the crowd. Larger guest counts (80–150) include two bartenders and a bar back as standard.
50th and 60th birthday packages often include a champagne or prosecco reception on arrival followed by a full cocktail bar through the evening. We coordinate the drinks schedule to match your event timeline — welcome drinks, dinner service, and dancing-until-close all have different pace requirements. See our house party bar hire page if you're hosting at home.

The best birthday venue depends on your guest count and vibe. For 20–40 guests, a house party with our compact indoor bar works perfectly — living rooms in Clapham, Balham, and Brixton are our most-booked residential birthday setups. For 40–80 guests, a hired hall or function room gives more space — community halls in Islington, Hackney, and Camberwell offer good value and flexible access.
Summer birthdays suit garden party setups — large gardens in Richmond, Dulwich, and Hampstead with enough space for a bar, seating, and a dancefloor under a marquee. For premium milestone birthdays, rooftop venues in Shoreditch and Bermondsey, private dining rooms in Soho and Mayfair, and warehouse conversions around London Fields and Victoria Park all work well with our full mobile bar setup. Planning a wedding bar alongside a birthday celebration? We handle both.
We've served birthday bars at The Hoxton Basement, Hackney Wick warehouse spaces, The Ivy private rooms, garden venues near Kew, pubs with function rooms across South London, and rooftop terraces overlooking Tower Bridge and the Shard. If your venue has its own bar but you want our cocktail menu and professional bartenders, we can staff it directly — see our bar staff hire page. In our experience, birthday styles vary widely by age: 21st birthdays tend to be intimate house parties in neighbourhoods like Clapham, Islington, and Shoreditch with smaller, closer-knit guest lists; 30ths split between hired venues and private homes, often with 40–100 guests; while 40ths and 50ths frequently move to marquee or garden setups across South London, Richmond, and Hampstead with larger numbers. Milestone hosts often tell us they want to elevate the celebration — a polished cocktail bar at a 40th signals real care for the guest experience, setting it apart from a casual house party. We find this tends to mean more focus on bar quality and presentation, where signature cocktails and a premium spirit selection matter more than sheer volume.
London birthday celebrations have become increasingly segmented by neighbourhood and lifestyle. Central London celebrations (Soho, Mayfair, Covent Garden, Fitzrovia) emphasize cocktail quality and premium spirits — guests at these events expect craft cocktails, premium gin or whiskey selection, and bartenders who can discuss spirit provenance. Signature cocktails at central London birthday parties command £14–£16 per drink at venues, making all-inclusive mobile bar hire an exceptional value proposition: couples get professional service and premium cocktails at transparent pricing. East London celebrations (Shoreditch, Hackney, London Fields, Bethnal Green) favour aperitif-style entertainment — Aperol Spritz, prosecco, natural wines, and lower-alcohol cocktails — reflecting the neighbourhood's wine-bar culture. South London celebrations (Clapham, Brixton, Dulwich) tend to emphasize party volume and fun (Espresso Martinis, Pornstar Martinis, champagne) over craft complexity, with larger guest counts (60–100) and longer service windows (5–6 hours).
We've also noticed shifts in what hosts ask for. A growing number now request zero-proof or low-alcohol cocktail options prominently on the menu, reflecting changing attitudes toward alcohol across a wide age range. Milestone hosts (40th, 50th, 60th) increasingly request signature cocktails named after the guest of honour, turning the bar into a personalised centrepiece of the celebration. We've seen guest counts for milestone birthdays trend larger in recent years, which drives higher demand for professional bar staffing and multi-hour service. For many hosts, this means all-inclusive packages (from £850+) feel like better value than dry hire (£350) — guests increasingly expect a fully staffed bar rather than a self-serve setup. The pull towards experience-led celebrations means birthday hosts in London often choose quality over convenience.
Birthday budget differs dramatically by age milestone, guest count, and celebration style. A 21st birthday typically runs 30–50 guests at a house party — all-inclusive bar hire (£850–£1,100, four hours) costs roughly £17–£22 per person for unlimited drinks, compared to £20–£25 per person at a pub. The economics favour mobile bar hire, especially when you include professional bartenders and a curated cocktail menu that house guests couldn't replicate. A 30th birthday often scales to 50–100 guests at a hired venue or garden — all-inclusive packages (£1,300–£1,800, four hours) run £13–£18 per person. At this scale, mobile bar hire becomes even more cost-effective than venue bars, which typically charge £10–£15 per individual drink. A 40th or 50th birthday often justifies premium positioning: 80–150 guests at a proper venue with champagne reception plus cocktail service. Budget here (£2,200–£3,500 all-inclusive) shifts from "cost per drink" thinking to "total celebration investment" — hosts view the bar as central to guest experience, not a line item to minimize. The signature cocktail (free on milestone packages) transforms the bar into a personalized experience rather than generic service.
Practical budgeting: a 21st birthday with 40 guests costs £900–£1,100 all-inclusive (roughly £22–£27/person for drinks); a 30th with 75 guests costs £1,500–£2,000 (£20–£26/person); a 40th with 120 guests costs £2,500–£3,200 (£21–£26/person). These per-person rates remain relatively flat across age milestones when you budget for 2–3 drinks per guest, which is the realistic average across a 4-hour party window. If you supply your own spirits on dry hire (£350 setup + £6.50/pp/hr), costs drop to £4–£6 per person for drinks, but you sacrifice bartender expertise, menu curation, and the professional experience quality that makes milestone birthdays memorable. For hosts willing to invest in experience (which milestone birthdays warrant), all-inclusive packages deliver better per-person value and perceived quality than dry hire or venue bars, even at the headline rates shown.
Peak birthday season runs May through September and throughout December. Book at least four weeks ahead for Saturday nights during these months — availability moves fast, especially in central and east London. Weekday birthdays and off-peak months can usually be confirmed within two weeks.
